PROGRAMS & SERVICES - RESIDENTIAL TREATMENT

Campuses providing this program:

Quakerdale of Manning
Quakerdale of Marshalltown
Quakerdale of New Providence
Quakerdale of Waterloo

Residential Treatment is twenty-four (24) hour care for adolescents who present mental health, abuse or delinquency issues. These variables are associated with the following positive outcomes for children in residential treatment: continued connection with family and community while in placement, continued work with the child and family after discharge, and social skills teaching with the child and family.

Youth, ages 11 through 17, reside on one of Quakerdale's four residential facilities, in a cottage environment for 10 to 12 youth. In most cases the children come with chronic mental health and/or delinquency problems. Abuse issues, such as sexual, physical, emotional or substance abuse, sometimes compound these problems.

Residential Treatment offers assessment of the child's social, emotional and familial functioning; development of a treatment plan; and individual and group counseling. The program also offers special needs group therapy for sexual abuse victims and perpetrators, substance abuse, grief and loss, and family counseling.

Treatment of the child is wholistic in nature, focusing on the systems in which the child interacts - family and school, and also by treating the various aspects of the child - physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual. Spiritual programming is an important part of the therapeutic services. Weekly devotions and church attendance are required, either with the cottage group or through other arrangements.

Information on current openings and programs is available by contacting directly one of our campuses.
