Christian Motorcyclists “Run for the Son” at Quakerdale

(New Providence, Iowa, May 10, 2011) - - Over 90 members of the Christian Motorcyclists Association rallied at the Quakerdale of New Providence campus with a mission to serve as a part of their twenty-third annual “Run for the Son” on Saturday, May 7, 2011.
The CMA is a non-profit interdenominational organization dedicated to taking the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the highways and byways through motorcycling. Since its beginning in the 1970’s the organization has expanded to 27 countries.
The “Run for the Son” is the only fundraiser that CMA does in which chapters from all around the world bike to spread the light and message of Jesus Christ simultaneously. Tammie Foltz, Quakerdale board member and CMA member of 4 years facilitated the service day.
“This was something completely new for our group,” said Foltz. “It is important for us to reach out to communities across Iowa. By serving others we are fulfilling our vision, ‘to change the world one heart at a time’ and thank Quakerdale for giving us the opportunity to do so.”
Six chapters from Des Moines, Harcourt, Waterloo, Marshalltown, Mason City and Boone, Iowa rode the requirement of 100 miles to the Quakerdale campus, completed various projects, prayed at noon, and spent time with youth.
“I didn’t know Quakerdale existed and I am really impressed by what they are doing for kids and families,” stated a CMA member.
