A Personal Story of Faith

admin posted on October 05, 2010 12:10

Before I was at Quakerdale I was not a Christian.  I went to church, but I really never took it to heart.  I walked into Quakerdale with no faith in God at all.  I would curse at people.  I did not believe in God what-so-ever then when I came to Quakerdale about a month into my stay at the Promise Home Quakerdale Chaplain Dave Holm asked me if I accepted God.  Of course I said no and then I asked, “How do you do it?”  He asked me if I would like to know how and I said, “Yes”.  He told me to, “Pray to God and ask for forgiveness” then he asked me, “Would you like to say yes?” I agreed and then we prayed.  Three months later I talked to my sister  and asked her if she ever accepted God and she said no.  I asked her if she would like to.  Then, she asked, “How do I do it” and I said, "You pray to God for forgiveness."  I asked her if she would like to and she said, “Yes” and then we prayed.  Inside I was thinking one more person is going to heaven because of my faith in God.
