FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

ANNUAL GOLF OUTING A SUCCESS
Manning Golf Outing Raises $13,600 for Quakerdale

(Carroll, IA) The beginning of June marked 19 successful years for the Quakerdale of Manning Golf Outing. On June 7, over 50 golfers gathered at the Carroll Country Club to participate in the fundraiser, which raised $13,600.

The proceeds of this annual event benefit Quakerdale’s Manning Campus, which will be celebrating its 20th year of providing preventive and therapeutic services to the youth and families of Carroll county and surrounding areas on June 12.

After the round, the golfers enjoyed a social hour before the banquet, which was held in the Carroll Country Club. Golf Pro, Nick Schon kicked off the banquet by passing out awards and announcing the winning team which included Nate Puck, Tony Bohnenkamp, Kevin Boersma, and Steve Puck with a score of 54.

Each year, the banquet features a former Quakerdale resident who shares his or her story with the group. This year’s speaker, Molly, shared about her experiences before coming to Quakerdale, and explained how her time spent there helped her get her life back on track. Finally, the banquet concluded by announcing the final amount raised which brings the 20-year total to $301,919.

The golf outing is organized by the Quakerdale Development Council of Western Iowa, which includes council members Jair Mayhall, Dave McNamara, Bill Prebeck, Nate Puck, and co-chairs Kevin Boyle and Brad Vollstedt.

“It is the hard work of this council that makes a successful outing every year,” says Rob Talbot, Executive Director. “We are very appreciative of their dedication to Quakerdale’s mission of helping children and families in Iowa.”
