Over the course of 160 years Quakerdale has been working to assist families and youth. As needs continue to change in our communities our organization has expanded programs and services to meet those needs! For those that are new to Quakerdale or those that have supported Quakerdale here is who we are:
We are a Christian non-profit organization providing both education and support with youth, families and communities. We offer a unique variety of both support and educational opportunities across the state of Iowa. Our organization is focused on prevention and education before crisis.
Educational Opportunities:
We have an on-campus boarding school called the Promise Academy.
The Promise Academy is nestled in the heart of Iowa in a beautiful rural setting and provides an educational community for youth.. Any male middle school and high school age are open to enroll in the Academy! The Promise Academy exists to offer a world of opportunities for youth in a non-traditional setting. Various opportunities include learning about sustainable agriculture, participating in the prep-basketball program and equine activities.
Off-campus initiatives include:
- Equine program that offers fun and life-enriching activities at our Wolfe Ranch Life Enrichment Center in Marshalltown. The Ranch serves as a retreat center and Equine Assisted Learning is also available for individuals and groups.
- Mobile Camp is a fun community outreach program that travels statewide to offer a week-long day-camp to children ages 6-11.
Support Services:
Support services are youth, community and family-focused providing encouragement and tools for life. Some key programs include: residential treatment, family team meetings, counseling, functional family therapy, and many more. These programs assist people overcome various issues such as: grief/loss, aggression, divorce, conflict, depression..etc.
