Quakerdale Students Win for Creative Writing & Fine Arts

admin posted on December 05, 2008 07:54

Two Quakerdale students have won first place in their respective divisions in the Creative Writing and Fine Arts Competition of the National Fellowship of Child Care Executives 2008 Summer Conference.

Cody, a student at Wolfe Ranch in Marshalltown, won for his essay “Living My Goals,” which is an account of how his placement at Quakerdale has helped him with his long term life goals. Pictured with Cody are Marshalltown Director of Residential Services Jim Judkins (l) and Michael MacDonald (r), the resident counselor that helped Cody with his essay.

Eric, a student at the Rena Van Orman Promise Home, won first place for his painting in the 15 years and older division. Both students received a $50 check and a certificate from the NFCCE recognizing their accomplishments.
